Greetings from Holy Kings to you all !
Respected dignitaries on and off the dais, principals and delegates from other schools,parents, guests,wellwishers,colleagues and dear students,
I take it as a privilege to get this opportunity to address you all as a staff representative on behalf of Principal of Holy Kings Public School.I extend a cordial welcome to each one of you to the auspicious day of celebrating the 16th Annual Day of HKPS.With a heart full of gratitude I would like to present the Annual Report of Holy Kings Public School for the academic year 2019-2020.
MERITORIOUS & SHINING RESULT OF Xth GRADE FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2018-‘19
The outgoing students from Class X achieved MERITORIOUS & SHINING RESULT for the Academic year 2018-’19.All our students passed out with flying colours! On behalf the Principal,Management,Staff &Parents ,we appreciate the hardwork and strenuous effort undertaken by our students. Hearty Congratulations to students as well as teachers!
Special Training for the faculty
A Special Teacher's Training Programme was arranged from the beginning of the academic year for the faculty on 25th May2019.Dr. P. C.Achankunju took inspirational classes and motivated the teachers to enrich quality and standard in the process of teaching.
With great vigour and passion for learning , growth and development ,Holy Kings Public School set off their journey through the year 2019 on 6th June 2019.On the Re-opening day Praveshanolsavam was organised to extend warm welcome to our students as well as their parents.
The outgoing X th grade students proved their metal through achieving a conspicuous result as usual to Holy Kings' legacy.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In order to achieve the whole round development of the child, the school has arranged as many extracurricular activities as possible like Dance, Musci & Yoga are given due importance.
Environmental Day was observed on 7th June .The chief guest was School Manager Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathew Manakkattu.
Investiture Ceremony& Inauguration of Clubs
Investiture ceremony& Inauguration ofvarious clubs and other activities were held on 10th June 2019.Rev.Dr. Mathew Manakkattu,the School Manager who was the guest on the occasion, lighted the lamp and delivered a powerful message.MasterJerin and Kumari Marin were taken charge as Head boy and Head girl of school respectively.
International Yoga day was celebrated on 21 st June and MassYoga was held in the activity hall on 1stJuly 2019.
Language Club Activity started on 15 th July to improve the standard of various Languages in the school.Due importance was given to English language activities as global Lingua Franca.
The school organised a stage show about War & Science on 2 nd August.
On 6th August , Hiroshima Day was observed. Students commemorated the sufferings and hardships of the affected ones by holding a Rally to the Municipality.
Friendly Cricket Match
On 14th August a friendly inter- house Cricket Match was held.Students took it with real sportsmanship spirit.
Donation to Flood Relief Camp
Under the effective leadership of Principal,Holy Kings Public School donated as many things as possible to flood relief camp on 22 nd August.
Fit India Movement and Swachhata Shapath days were observed on29th August and 2nd September respectively.
On Teacher’s day- September 5th, students greeted their teachers in the Activity hall and
made it a memorable one through various programs.
The Onam celebration of this year took place on 6th September. Various competitions in
connection with the festival held and the school manager graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
Plastic Waste Management and Green School Activity
On 20th September Plastic Waste Management and Green School activity was organised. In connection with this students were given awareness to maintain a clean and green campus so as to remove plastic from environment and surrounding.
Child Abuse & Sexual Harassment Committee
In view of child abuse and sexual harassment among girls in the present scenario, special care and precaution was given to them and conducted awareness classes for girls at higher level on 26th September.
ROTARY CLUB INAUGURATION
Rotary club inauguration was organised on 18th October and the newly elected members took charge. It was inaugurated and I share project was done by Rtn. V C Varghese. Many eminent personalities were present and felicitated on the occasion. They were Rev. Dr. Mathew Manakkattu, Dr.A C Peter,Mr.ThomasMallipuram,Mr.Mathew C Chacko, Mr. JijiKurian. Pinning the badges was done by Rtn.Jose MP.
National colouring, handwriting,Essay writing contests were conducted on 28th October.
On November 1st, we celebrated Keralapiravi.Music club took initiative to organise it.
Educational Tour for classes 1 to 6 took place on 4thNovember.It was informative and entertaining.
Arts Festival was celebrated on7th&8thNovember.All the children took part in it lively.
As usual, Children’s day celebration was held on 14th November to cherish the memories of Cha cha Nehru, various games were conducted and sweets were distributed. Chachaji Competition, children’s day rally conducted.
NASA Science Olympyad was held on 18th November .Many students participated in it.
On November 26th, Constitution Day was observed. A special assembly was organized in connection with it. Students followed the Preamble of Indian constitution. It inspired students to understand more aboutvarious articles of the Indian constitution.
The Educational Picnic for classes vii- x was conducted on 28th November to Wayanad and Ooty.The Principal along with four teachers accompanied the students to various tourist attractions.
The school’s Annual sportwas conducted on 30 th November at the school ground. All the students participated in it with full vigour andenergy andwon various championshipsat various athletic events.They were given special recognition in the School Assembly by the Principal.
Human Rights Day was observed on 10th December .
English Day Celebrations
English Day Programme was celebrated on 6th December respectively.The School Manager , Rev. Fr. Dr.Mathew Manakkattu was the guest of honour who inspired the children and made the children aware of the importance of English Language at global level.TheSchool Principal,Mr. Mathew C Chacko emphasized children on the relevance of English so as to speak English for better life prospects.
As per the guidelines and circulars from CBSE,we strictly conducted various programmes as follow:
On29 th August,Fit India Movement. Did yoga, aerobics,essay writing competition, painting and handwriting competition.

December 16, Water Conservation Essay Competition conducted. Schools were intimated about the need for educating students on Environment & Water Conservation.

On September 1st to September 15 ,we conducted Cleanliness Drive for Swachh Bharat- Swachhata Pakhwade in the school campus.All plastic waste materials were removed from the school compound.

In connection with these activities Campus cleaning,Snehabhavan road cleaning,Painting and drawing competitions,Essay writing competition,Hand washing, Planting tree saplings were held in our school.
PROGRAMMES FOR STUDENTS
Our students participated in competitive exams,workshops, quiz competitions, seminars and social service activities and won many certificates .
1,Our students actively involved in one day workshop organised at MSM ITI Auditorium on Global warming, climate change and disaster management on 4th November .Teachers in charge were Mrs.Ambily&Mrs.Nitha.
2,Two teams from our school participated in Big Q Quiz Competition on 22nd November at Renewal Centre,Kaloor.Teacher in charge was Miss. Liss
3,Many students took part in a Seminar on Annual Solar Eclipse: A Rare celestial spectacle at MKM HSS ,PIRAVOM on 4th December,2019

4, Classes 6&7 students participated in Chaithanya Karshikamela at Thellakom organised by Chaitanya Social Service Society on 21st November,2019. Some of our students performed a stage show which was mind-blowing to the spectators. Vice Principal Sr. Julie along with three teachers (Mrs.Renju,Mrs.Bini&Mr.Shino) accompanied them.
